CULTURA is a year-round column which features Latino/a/e poetry, short stories, creative nonfiction, articles/opinion pieces, and hybrid literary forms, on any topics or themes.
We also publish reviews, interviews, and other pieces by non-Latinos that engage in some way with Latino art + culture.
CULTURA pieces are published year-round and submissions accepted on a rolling basis.
Latino artists, activists, small business, & any other creators are welcome to reach out to us to propose an interview for the column as well.
If you want to have an article/story that doesn’t fall under any of these categories, pitch or submit it anyway! We’re flexible. Don’t self-reject!
Additionally, Alebrijes aims to represent a variety of perspectives within the community. The opinions/politics/ideologies presented in your pieces do not have to match our editor's to be featured. However any piece celebrating a bigoted ideology will be automatically rejected. By this we mean no sexism, racism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, or any other hate against a marginalized group, unless these are framed as issues.
